Which ASMA Membership is right for you? 


First Year Membership:   If you have never been a member of ASMA before, enjoy 50% off your first year.  Contact Cassie to confirm eligibility.


Regular Member:    Regular Membership are for those actively practicing in Alaska, with a valid Alaska medical License.   Members benefit from combining their voice to be heard in Alaska Legislature.  


Semi-Retired:   If you are working toward fully retiring but aren't quite there yet, this may be for you.  We do require that you've been a consecutive member the last ten years prior.  That you are practicing 20 hours or less each week, you are at least 55 years of age and that you serve on at least one committee.  If you are not currently serving on a committee we would be happy to find one appropriate for you.  Semi-Retired members are also encouraged to apply for seats on either the BOT or HOD.  Please contact Cassie to confirm your eligibility.


Associate Membership: If you are any of the following:

1) Fully Retired,

2) Full time intern/fellow

3) Live out of state

This membership is for you!  Associate Members do receive all benefits and privileges of regular members except they may not hold state association office, serve in the HOD, substitute for a member or vote in the general assembly meeting.  


Group Membership:     Are you in a practice of 10 or more providers?  

This may be for you.  The 10 providers must be either MD/DO or PA.  All of the eligible providers must join in a single payment and you will receive a 20% discount off your Membership, discount not applicable to PA rates.  If there are 20 or more providers the practice may elect a representative to the House of Delegates.  Contact Cassie for more information.


Student Membership: Student membership is open to any resident of Alaska who is a student in a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or any student in the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho) Program in Alaska.  


Residency Membership: Resident membership is open to any resident of Alaska who possess a valid Alaska Medical Resident License.  Residents who complete their program and would like to transition to full members are still eligible for their first year discount.


Affiliate Membership, Physician Assistant: Physicians Assistants holding a valid Alaska physician assistant license are encouraged to join.  Affiliate Member benefits include access to the Associations Physician Health Committee,  representation within the Associations HOD and in Juneau.
